From Tech to TCM

Before founding MoxaMoxa, Maggie spent more than a decade working in the technology and project-management field after completing her postgraduate studies in IT at Nanyang Technological University.

Her path into Traditional Chinese Medicine began through her own search for better ways to understand and care for the body. What started as a personal interest gradually became a new professional direction.

Maggie later pursued studies in TCM Health Management at the Singapore College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, deepening her understanding of traditional wellness principles and practical external techniques such as Gua Sha, moxibustion and Bojin.

Why Maggie Founded MoxaMoxa

MoxaMoxa was created to bridge the gap between traditional wellness knowledge and modern lifestyles.

Maggie believes that TCM self-care should not feel complicated. It should be something people can understand, practise and gradually incorporate into daily life.

Through hands-on workshops, educational content and thoughtfully selected wellness tools, MoxaMoxa helps people learn practical self-care skills they can continue using at home.

The aim is not to replace professional medical care, but to help people become more aware of their bodies and more confident in everyday self-care.

From Self-Care to Family Care

As MoxaMoxa grew, Maggie noticed something meaningful. People often came to learn Gua Sha or other self-care techniques for themselves. But after learning, many began using those same skills to care for the people around them.

Mothers practised Gua Sha with their children. Daughters used simple wellness routines to spend time caring for their parents. Partners learned to care for one another. Sometimes, a few quiet minutes of Gua Sha became more than a wellness routine. It became time to slow down, talk and reconnect.

Education Before Selling

Maggie believes education should come before selling. Rather than simply introducing a product, she wants customers to understand why, when and how a self-care method is used.

Through practical workshops in Gua Sha, Bojin, moxibustion and TCM self-care, she makes traditional concepts easier for modern consumers to understand.

Her background in technology and project management shapes the way she teaches: complex concepts become clear steps, practical systems and techniques people can apply in real life.

01

Gua Sha

Practical self-care techniques designed for everyday routines.

02

Bojin

Guided learning that makes traditional concepts feel approachable.

03

Moxibustion

Hands-on education for building confidence with appropriate use.

A Modern Approach to Traditional Wisdom

Maggie believes traditional wisdom can remain rooted in its origins while still being communicated in a way that fits modern lifestyles.

This philosophy continues to shape MoxaMoxa's workshops, educational content and product development.

  1. Make TCM easier to understand.
  2. Make self-care easier to practise.
  3. Help self-care naturally become family care.
